Atlas Mountains

The Atlas mountains in Morocco contain the highest peak in North Africa, Jebel Toubkal mountain at 4,167m.  Spectacular Tizi n'Tichka Pass, at 2,260m crosses over the mountians.  We hiked up into the foothills near Jebel Toubkal and stayed at a guesthouse in Aremd, an awesome place. Fantastic!

The French built highway over the mountains.

Nice day, awesome views.

Lots of hairpin turns.

The sign at the pass.

Simone and Christine, friends from Germany.

Valley view from Aremd.

Morocco, this is what I picture now, a colorful country.

Village of Aremed from the river.

A serene setting and beautiful place.

A morning walk through the village.

Tea time on arrival in Aremd.

Our Lodge in Aremd (Aroumd).

Sleeping quarters, though I slept out under the stars.
