Cruising the Nile

One of the highlights of my travels in Egypt was the 2 days spent on the Nile River.  We sailed on a small felucca, a local boat style that has been used on the Nile for centuries.  A very relaxing way to treavel, quiet and slow, the only sound was the wind in the sail and the waves lapping against the wooden boat.  We pulled to shore and tied up for the night, sleeping onboard under the stars, so very cool.  Our boat's name was Blue Mountain, owned by J J Jamacia and we traveled with another boat and group.

A felucca fishing boat turned cruiser.

The shoreline was often desert.

Tied up for the night.

A local fishing boat nearby.

A wonderful experience.
